Requirements To Obtain PR Visa (Subclass Visa 888)

The applicant has lived in Australia on subclass 188A visa for a total of at least 1 year in the 2 years prior to lodging the 888 visa.

The applicant has owned and operated a business in Australia for at least 2 years prior to the application and the company’s annual turnover is at least AUD 300,000 in the 12 months prior to the application.

Furthermore, the applicant must meet 2 of the following 3 criteria for the 12 months prior to the application:

Net worth of at least AUD 600,000 in Australia
Net assets of at least AUD 200,000 in the main business in Australia
Equivalent of at least 2 full-time eligible employees in the main business in Australia

Investor Stream (188B)

Have directly managed a qualifying business with at least 10% ownership interest; or
An eligible investment of at least AUD 2,500,000 for at least 1 of the 5 fiscal years prior to the application

Investment in Australia

Invest AUD 2,500,000 as follows:

At least AUD 500,000 into a venture capital and growth private equity funds which invest in start-up and small private companies
And at least AUD 750,000 in approved managed funds investing in emerging company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX)
And the balancing amount of AUD 1,250,000 in approved managed funds that may invest in a range of assets (including ASX-listed companies, Australian corporate bonds or notes, annuities and commercial real estate)
Note that direct investment in residential real estate is prohibited and indirect investment in residential property through managed funds is strictly limited

The applicant has held on to complying investments continuously for the duration of the provisional visa.
