Spouse / Common-Law Partner
Sponsor
Sponsor must be an adult Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
Sponsor's Income Level
Sponsor does not need to demonstrate a minimum amount of income to sponsor a spouse or common-law partner.
Sponsored Person
Sponsored person must be married or cohabited with the sponsor in a marriage-like relationship for at least 12 consecutive months.
Dependent Children
Sponsor
Sponsor must be an adult Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
Sponsor's Income Level
Sponsor does not need to demonstrate a minimum amount of income to sponsor dependent children.
Sponsored Person
Sponsored child must be single and financially reliant on the parent, and either aged under 18, or a full-time student aged 18 to 24, or over 18 with a disability.
Parents
Sponsor
Sponsor must be an adult Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen, and has lived in Australia for usually at least 2 years.
Sponsor's Income Level
Sponsor must pass the income test for the current and previous financial year.
Sponsored Person
Sponsored parents are required to have at least half of their eligible children residing in Australia.
